After taking the summer to settle into our new home, we'd like to invite you to visit us in Rockwood, Ontario for an official grand opening later this month. Get all of the details in this newsletter as you read on. We'd also like to remind you of some great youth positions available to apply for, as well as your opportunity to nominate a volunteer in your community for the Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Award. Finally, take some time to read about some outstanding new club leaders and a group of young agricultural delegates who met in Calgary this summer to tackle the issue of world hunger.

4-H Ontario opens its doors for Grand Opening!

4-H Ontario is throwing open the doors to our new provincial office in Rockwood, Ontario for an official Grand Opening on Friday, October 25, 2013. The Grand Opening will take place as an open house at 111 Main Street North, Rockwood, from 3pm to 7pm, with speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:00pm. For all details click here >

Here's your chance to reward a local volunteer. The Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Awards are 4-H Ontario's most distinguished volunteer awards given out each year at 4-H Ontario's Conference & Annual Meeting in March. Nominations are due November 30 and more info can be found here >
Career Mania
4-H Ontario and Gay Lea Foods Co-operative would like to congratulate the six winners of the inaugural Outstanding New 4-H Club Leader Award. This award celebrates those volunteers who have been leaders with 4-H Ontario for less than three years. For information on all of the winners click here >

Scholarship Deadlines
From August 19-25, 118 young agricultural delegates and 24 mentors from 20 different countries met in Calgary, Alberta to tackle the issue of global hunger and brainstorm ideas on how to deal with feeding a hungry planet. For the full story on the events and ideas from the Summit click here.
