"4-H Connection"

This month's E-Newsletter is all about bringing local stories and connections to every 4-H'r. Volunteers, Members and staff came together to produce some fantastic stories and events that are valuable for all. There is a great local story about the Haldimand Geocaching Club, information about the 4-H Dairy Invitational Show in Lucknow, new project resource and database updates, and a meet and greet with the new 4-H Ontario staff members. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be share their event information and 4-H story.

Modern Day Treasure Hunting
Geocaching is a really neat trend where individuals hunt for treasure using a Global Positioning System (GPS). Haldimand 4-H Volunteers, Bill and Wendy Strong run a really cool Geocaching Club in Region 4. Read all about the Geocaching Club on 4-H Folklore >

Database Update
Coming in early to mid August the full integration of the new database, called the Membership Web Application (MWA), and the website will be complete. The new database has a lot of great features like online registration, a new MiniStore, online payments and donations, and profiles that can be edited by users. These updates will improve functionality and ease of use. More info available here >
Alumni Survey
In preparation for 4-H Ontario’s centennial year, 4-H Ontario staff are developing services and activities to help reconnect 4-H Alumni. But first, your input is needed on what those Alumni activities and services should be. Now is the time to let us know. Share your ideas by filling out the online survey >

Policy Updates
Meet the 4-H Ontario Staff
Cam Crogie brings a wealth of 4-H knowledge and experience to the team. With a BSc and diploma in Agriculture, as well as being a beef farmer, Cam is well versed in the agricultural roots of 4-H. Meet Cam here >

Join the Foundation
The Ontario 4-H Foundation is always looking for good candidates to become Trustees. The Foundation looks for a wide range of skills to sit at the Trustee table. Learn more about what it takes to be a Trustee here >
Dairy Invitational
The 2012, 10th annual BRITESPAN 4-H Dairy Invitational Show in Lucknow is coming up on Monday August 6, 2012. The show is eligible for All Ontario Nominations. Event info is available here >
