Recent events surrounding COVID-19 have created an unprecedented situation for all Canadians including those of us in 4-H.

What shines through the uncertainty in these times is the wonderful stories of support, compassion and ingenuity. Stories of neighbours checking in on each other. People banding together to support small businesses, virtual meetings, virtual coffee dates, and the ability to pause for a moment to reflect on the most important parts of our lives and the immediate needs of our community. Social-distancing in itself is a tremendous act of solidarity.

At 4-H Ontario we have been working to find creative ways to help keep families participating in fun activities together to ride out social distancing. If you look on social media, you will start to see some simple, fun videos on things you can do at home. We would love for you to share your own adventures with us.
4-H’ers make up the most resilient, creative, and inspiring individuals I have had the pleasure of knowing. They say that necessity breeds innovation and if any group can prove that to be true while faced with adversity it is 4-H’ers.

Please value this time with your own family. Engage with us on social media. Let us know how you are riding out these days, and let’s use this opportunity to come together, support each other, and weather the storm.
Thank you all for your dedication and love of 4-H,

Sincerely,

Evelyn Chambers, Interim Executive Director, 4-H Ontario
