4-H Ontario COVID-19 Update – March 24,2020

(Posted March 24, 2020)

4-H Ontario COVID-19 update – March 24, 2020

Yesterday the Ontario Government announced a mandatory closure of all non-essential businesses for 14 days effective March 24, 2020 at 11:59pm We feel confident that because 4-H Ontario is currently functioning remotelywe will be able to continue to do business and will not be impacted by this additional measure of social distancing.

A news release from the Government of Ontario states:

Businesses that can continue operations with employees working remotely, or through other contingency measures, are being given approximately 36 hours to prepare and adapt. Essential services may continue their operations to maintain supply chains and ensure the people of Ontario have access to necessities, including groceries, medicines and other essential products.?

During this time, 4-H Ontario is continuing to create resources and explore ways for our members, volunteers, stakeholders and staff to feel supported by our organization. We are also continuing to plan youth opportunities so that we are ready to resume regular youth programming and activities once these measures are lifted.

In the interim please engage in the Online Explore 4-H project. We are seeing great pictures of how youth are engaging in learning and creating and living the 4-H motto of 'Learn to Do by Doing.’

We often say that 4-H is a family, this notion is more important now then ever. 4-H Ontario encourages all 4-H Participants and Volunteers to continue social-distancing, stay safe, and stay home.

If you are looking for great activities to help engage you kids during this time, we have developed our first fully online resource. The Explore 4-H Online Project Resource is available to everyone and can be submitted for project completion credits.
