4-H Ontario COVID-19 update – March 13, 2020 5 p.m.

The health and safety of our 4-H youth, volunteers and staff is priority. 4-H Ontario continues to make decisions and monitor local and national health departments updates on COVID-19.

At this time, we are asking all of our 4-H Associations to follow these guidelines:

·       We are recommending that all 4-H events (I.e. club meetings, achievement prorgams and association-wide events) be suspended and re-evaluated in three weeks time.

·       Consider hosting digital events if possible.

·       If using school facilities follow the directives of the Ontario Ministry of Education.

·       Assess risk and make decisions that are in the best interest of the 4-H Program and our youth participants and volunteers.

We will continue to assess risk on an ongoing basis and are following recommended steps from public, local, federal government agencies. Public agencies are communicating effectively and quickly with many resources. Utilize your local agencies. Updates will be posted on the 4-H Ontario website and social media platforms.
