Oxford 4-H Info

Welcome to 4-H in Oxford County!

4-H is a program offering youth between the ages of 9 and 21 the opportunity to make new friends and share new experiences, learn and try out new skills at local, regional and provincial projects and opportunities.  In the process and including lots of fun skills for life (cooking, sewing, crafts, creativity) and agriculture (livestock, machinery, farm safety, to name a few) and the environment and conservation, leadership and judging are learned.

This is all done by our wonderful local volunteers who are screened and trained to ensure the very best experience for our members.  Each club must have two screened and trained volunteers minimum.

We have clubs for LifeSkills:    Brooksdale, Burgessville / Oxford Centre, Embro

                                              Hickson / Community / Tavistock, Mt Elgin

                                              Thamesford and countywide

We have Agricultural clubs:

     Dairy {Bonds, East Nissouri, Ingersoll Kiwanis, North Oxford (Bennington Cody & Tavistock)}

     Swine (county wide)

     Farm Safety / Machinery / Field Crops (county wide)

     NEW - Dairy Judging Club (starting in March)

     NEW - Modern Quilting Club (Summer, Other possible)

     NEW - Media/Tech Club

We have a very dedicated Board of Directors who manage the county 4-H program and opportunities including Judging Day and Go For the Gold.

Volunteers are needed for all areas of the county (Bright, Tillsonburg) and for Horse and Goat projects as we have interested members but no volunteers.  But our volunteers are always welcoming and mentoring new volunteers in all interests.  All you need is an interest in working with youth.
