FCC 4-H Club Fund

Deadline: October 31, 2016

4-H Canada and Farm Credit Canada are pleased to announce the FCC 4-H Club Fund for 2016/2017. These funds are available to all 4-H clubs, districts and regions across Canada. With the continued support of Farm Credit Canada, our goal is to help young Canadians “Learn To Do By Doing” in a safe, inclusive and fun environment. Funding Available $122,000 will be available in grants of up to $500 per club, district or region. Eligibility Applications must be from a registered Canadian 4-H club, district or region in good standing. Journey 2050 Social Activation Grant

Journey 2050 Social Activation Grant for 4-H Volunteers and Associations. 4-H Ontario is dedicated to supporting local initiatives across the province. This year, 4-H Ontario has been the recipient of funding from the Journey 2050 Social Activation Fund for the purpose of supporting local events that bring awareness to agricultural sustainability. OMIA/FMRP Grant Application Program

4-H Ontario is grateful and appreciative of the annual sponsorship funding we receive from OMIA/FMRP. 2016 Future of Dairy Scholarship Program

Deadline: October 1, 2016

Lely North America (Lely NA) is proud to announce the new 2016 Future of Dairy Scholarship Program that will be awarded annually. Five qualified students residing in Canada will be awarded a one-year, $1,000 scholarship. Students must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled at an accredited junior college, college, university, or graduate school. The student must also be registered in a program that can equip them to contribute to the dairy industry and be current or previous members of the 4-H.

Angelo and Frank Agro Undergraduate Scholarships

Deadline: April 13, 2016

For 4-H members attending post-secondary education. Seven awards of $7,000 ($1,750 annually for four years). Applicants must be full-time students entering semester one at the University of Guelph, who have a minimum 75% admission average, having completed at least 10 4-H projects. Applicants submit a point-form listing of their 4-H club activities and a reference letter from a 4-H club official. Scholarship recipients must maintain full time studies and a 70% program average each year for continuation of the award.

Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth Education Award & Bursary

Deadline: September 30, 2016

The Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth Education Award & Bursary honours Bertram and the late Hazel Stewart’s deep commitment and passion toward agriculture, education and 4-H. Open to 4-H Ontario members who have been a Dairy Club member for at least three years. At application, prospective winners must be enrolled in grade 9, 10 or 11, with intent to pursue post-secondary education. Presented at the TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in the year it is granted, this bursary of $1,000 is payable upon successful completion of first year of post-secondary schooling.

CIBC is the generous sponsor of eight scholarships - each valued at $1,000 each. Available to 4-H members in their last year of high school or CEGEP who plan to pursue a post-secondary education in the field of engineering, arts, science, business or health in September 2016. Giles Hume 4-H Ontario Centennial Award

Recognizing leadership and dedication to community betterment, and established in the summer of 2015 in honour of the 100 year anniversary of 4-H in Ontario, this award of $2,000 will be granted to a recipient to assist with their post-secondary education as recognition of excellence in 4-H and their home community.

GROWMARK, Inc. 2016 Essay Contest

Deadline: May 15, 2016

An essay contest conducted by GROWMARK, Inc. for high school 4-H members in Ontario. Applicants must write a 500 word essay on the theme “What Can Young People Do To Ensure The Sustainability of Agriculture”. A provincial winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the 4-H Association of the provincial winner will receive a $300 award. Four runners-up will each receive a $125 scholarship.

A $500 scholarship for a first year student in the Associate Diploma in Veterinary Technology Program at the University of Guelph’s Ridgetown Campus, who has demonstrated involvement in past and/or current 4-H activities in Ontario.

Justin Parish Memorial Bursary

Deadline: October 3, 2016

This $500 bursary honours the spirit of Justin’s dream of one day attending the Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF). Presented by Robin and Connie Parish, the Justin Parish Bursary will support a 4-H Ontario Dairy Club Member in attending the RAWF in Toronto. The 4-H member must be attending the Classic Show for the first time as team member, fitter or herdsperson. The recipient will be chosen by a selection committee and notified by 4-H Ontario. PResentation of the bursary will take place in the show ring during the Classic Show at the 2015 RAWF.

Weston Family 4-H Agricultural Scholarships

The Weston Family 4-H Agricultural Scholarship program is offered to 4-H members who will be an undergraduate or postgraduate student in an agricultural based certificate, degree, or diploma program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in the fall of 2016. Successful applications receive one full year of tuition at their institution in the appropriate program. Applicants may re-apply each year to receive additional funding. Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund Scholarships

Deadline: June 15, 2016

Youth from all six dairy breeds are eligible for this award which is funded by the Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund and the Ontario Holstein Branch. Selection is primarily based upon the applicant's agricultural background. Key components are 4-H and Junior Farmer involvement, community activities and future goals. Eight scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded annually. Four are presented to students enrolled at a college or university, in a diploma program, while the other four are awarded to students completing a degree.
