FCC 4-H Club Fund

4-H Canada and Farm Credit Canada are pleased to announce the FCC 4-H Club Fund for 2017-2018. These funds are available to all 4-H clubs, districts and regions across Canada. With the continued support of Farm Credit Canada, our goal is to help young Canadians “Learn To Do By Doing” in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.

Fundraise with the Merial BoxBack Program

Deadline: February 28, 2018

The Merial BoxBack program is an opportunity for clubs to raise funds. Members collect box labels from IVOMEC, animal lice control, and EPRINEX Pour-On, parasite control, and send them to Merial. For every label returned to Merial, clubs receive $10.

Growing Forward 2 4-H Canada Outreach Fund

Is your club, district or region looking for ways to promote the power of 4-H in your community? Through the Growing Forward 2 4-H Canada Outreach Fund, any club, district region in good standing is eligible to apply for grants of $200 up to $1,000 depending on the size of the project and number of 4-H members it will represent.

Angelo and Frank Agro Undergraduate Scholarships

Deadline: April 15, 2017

For 4-H members attending post-secondary education. Seven awards of $7,000 ($1,750 annually for four years). Applicants must be full-time students entering semester one at the University of Guelph, who have a minimum 75% admission average, having completed at least 10 4-H projects. Applicants submit a point-form listing of their 4-H club activities and a reference letter from a 4-H club official. Scholarship recipients must maintain full time studies and a 70% program average each year for continuation of the award.

Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth Education Award & Bursary

Deadline: October 1, 2017

The Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth Education Award & Bursary honours Bertram and the late Hazel Stewart’s deep commitment and passion toward agriculture, education and 4-H. Open to 4-H Ontario members who have been a Dairy Club member for at least three years. At application, prospective winners must be enrolled in grade 9, 10 or 11, with intent to pursue post-secondary education. Presented at the TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in the year it is granted, this bursary of $1,000 is payable upon successful completion of first year of post-secondary schooling.

CIBC 4-H Post-Secondary Education Scholarship

CIBC is the generous sponsor of eight scholarships - each valued at $1,000 each. Available to 4-H members in their last year of high school or CEGEP who plan to pursue a post-secondary education in the field of engineering, arts, science, business or health in September 2016. Giles Hume 4-H Ontario Centennial Award

Deadline: June 30, 2017

This award of $2,000 will be granted to a recipient to assist with their post-secondary education as recognition of excellence in 4-H and their home community. The award is made eligible to any 4-H Ontario member who is in good standing, paid their membership fee the year the award will be given and is enrolled in at least one club at the time of the application. The youth must also have been a 4-H member in the previous year and have completed at least one club that year.

GROWMARK, Inc. 2017 Essay Contest

Deadline: May 17, 2017

An essay contest conducted by GROWMARK, Inc. for high school 4-H members in Ontario. Applicants must write a 500 word essay on the annual theme, which for 2017 is “What value do co-operatives provide to today's farmers?”. One provincial winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the 4-H Association of the provincial winner will receive a $300 award. Each of two runners-up will each receive a $125 scholarship.

Justin Parish Memorial Bursary

Deadline: October 1, 2017

This $1,000 bursary honours the spirit of Justin’s dream of one day attending the Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF). Presented by Robin and Connie Parish, the Justin Parish Bursary will support a 4-H Ontario Dairy Club Member in attending the RAWF in Toronto. The 4-H member must be attending the Classic Show for the first time as team member, fitter or herdsperson. The recipient will be chosen by a selection committee and notified by 4-H Ontario. PResentation of the bursary will take place in the show ring during the Classic Show at the 2017 RAWF.

Weston Family 4-H Agricultural Scholarships

The Weston Family 4-H Agricultural Scholarship program is offered to 4-H members who will be an undergraduate or postgraduate student in an agricultural based certificate, degree, or diploma program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in the fall of 2017. Successful applications receive one full year of tuition at their institution in the appropriate program. Applicants may re-apply each year to receive additional funding. The Carleton County Junior Farmers (JF) are excited to offer the JF 4-H Scholar Award to high school students accepted to a post-secondary institution for September 2017 or a current college/university student in a program related to agriculture. Preference will be given to applicants who are highly involved in 4-H, their community and who are planning to pursue a career in the agricultural field.

Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund Scholarships

Deadline: June 14, 2017

Youth from all six dairy breeds are eligible for this award which is funded by the Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund and the Ontario Holstein Branch. Selection is primarily based upon the applicant's agricultural background. Key components are 4-H and Junior Farmer involvement, community activities and future goals. Eight scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded annually. Four are presented to students enrolled at a college or university, in a diploma program, while the other four are awarded to students completing a degree.
