Rocketry

Offered in two projects, beginner and advanced, the beginner’s project focuses on using model rocket kits to construct a rocket while learning about rocket parts, flight science and launch procedures. The advanced project focuses on designing and building your own rocket to launch!

Serving Up Pork

Sheaf

Become skilled at building and exhibiting sheaves and compete with them at local fairs and at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. Small Sewing Projects
Submitted by Hastings 4-H. Create small sewn items for yourself, for gifts and for around the home! Offered as three projects, Level one projects include how to make T-shirt shopping bags, blue jean book bags, nine-patch pillows, magic bags and cancer caps. Level one projects can usually be completed in one meeting. In Level two, projects include loopy boas and a cozy lap rag quilt. As part of Level three, each member will make their own sundress to wear.

Social Planning - Senior Member Project
Submitted by Brant 4-H. Does the thought of organizing a large community event scare you? In the Social Planning project, you will gain the tools needed to plan an event such as deciding on a date for the event, location, theme, decorations, food, entertainment, advertising, tickets, how many volunteers will be needed and even possibly choosing a Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Learn time management, planning and organizational skills and discover the importance of community involvement.

Speed Stacks

Tis a Gift

Often a handmade gift shows how much you care and is treasured more than a store bought gift by the person receiving it. Through this project you will have the opportunity to make several different homemade gifts to share with family and friends. Try your hand at gifts from the oven, making chocolate and candy, woodworking, mixes as gifts, fleece pillows, hair clips, snacks and a variety of other recipes.

Water Gardens
Submitted by Wellington 4-H. Use your creativity to design a small water garden! Explore the art of water gardening, understand the ecology of the “pond” and identify common shallow water plants and water lilies. Choose the area you want to have a water garden, what kind of container you want to use, install a liner, choose your favourite water plants and even introduce animals such as fish and snails if you wish!
