Volunteer with 4-H

Welcome to 4-H Ontario and the world of 4-H volunteering!

4-H volunteers are the foundation of our great program. They come from all walks of life and from every geographic location. Volunteers bring enthusiasm, energy and skills and knowledge to the 4-H program. There is a host of volunteer activities just waiting for you to explore. Take some time to browse so that you feel comfortable in your role as a 4-H Volunteer. We also invite questions, comments and suggestions through the discussion forum.

4-H Volunteer Requirements

4-H Volunteers must have a desire to work with young people and to learn and develop new skills. In addition, volunteer are expected to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete the Ontario 4-H Council Volunteer Recruitment and Screening procedure.
  • Attend 4-H Ontario training.
  • Assist other 4-H volunteers and 4-H members in planning and delivering an exciting and enriching 4-H program for all involved.
  • Spend a minimum of 12 hours of meeting time on each club project. Club leaders are also required to participate in their club Achievement Day.
  • 4-H leader training is a requirement to be a 4-H leader.

The information which you provide will be used to inform you of 4-H programs, activities and opportunities in your area. It may also be used to keep you up to date on the activities of the

Ontario 4-H Council and the Ontario 4-H Foundation, including programs, services, special events, funding needs and opportunities.
