The philosophy of "neighbour helping neighbour" is the foundation upon which the farm mutuals were built. We are thankful that an organization like 4-H Ontario exists to challenge and develop our youth.
Who Are the Farm Mutuals?
Our business is insurance, our commitment to the communities we serve as neighbours runs deep. Early mutuals were formed over 150 years ago. Groups of farmers gathered together to protect each other in the event of fire - Neighbour Helping Neighbour.
Today, 45 independent companies have evolved to provide a wide array of insurance protection including HOME, FARM, COMMERCIAL, CHURCH, and AUTO insurance. However, more importantly we remain:
- 100% Canadian
- Owned by the policyholders
- Directed by an elected board consisting of policyholders
- Located across rural Ontario
Because of these important "mutual" characteristics, our focus remains fixed on the best interests of the policyholders and our communities.
