Third Annual Greenbelt Youth Forum Coming April 8th to 11th, 2010

4-H Ontario and Me to We, a division of Free the Children, are seeking rural and urban high school students in grades ten, eleven and twelve for the third annual Greenbelt Youth Forum. The Forum, to be held at the YMCA Camp Cedar Glen near Bolton from April 8-11th 2010, brings together rural and urban students from high schools within the Greenbelt.
Through facilitated discussions, group work, workshops, guest speakers and tours, the students work together to explore a variety of issues such as environmental stewardship, resource preservation, land use planning, and local food.
Over four days, you'll participate in hands-on leadership, team work and public speaking activities, travel throughout the Greenbelt on bus tours, listen to a variety of guest speakers, and most importantly, learn from each other.
Following the forum, you will work, either together, or individually, to complete a project within your community or school, with continued support from 4-H Ontario and Leaders Today. These projects can be anything that inspires you.
Registration for this exciting Forum is only $75. Applications are due by February 25, 2010 and should be returned to 4-H Ontario at 5653 Hwy 6N, RR5, Guelph, ON, N1H 6J2.

Youth Leaders Energized for Change

(Guelph, ON - May 1, 2009) - Fifty high school students from across Ontario are geared up to make a Bushel Basket of Change in their communities after their participation in the three-day 4-H Greenbelt Youth Forum.
The Forum, held at the YMCA Cedar Glen facility in Bolton from April 16-19th, integrated rural and urban high school students from across Ontario. Through facilitated discussions, group work, guest speakers and tours, the delegates developed leadership, public speaking and team work skills while concurrently exploring Greenbelt opportunities encompassing environmental stewardship, resource preservation, land use planning, and local food.
