The Canadian Food Summit 2012

February 7 - 8, 2012
Metro Toronto Convention Centre

The Conference Board of Canada is holding a major international summit on the future of food in Canada. The Canadian Food Summit 2012 features an outstanding lineup of Canadian and International speakers to discuss the key challenges addressing Canada’s food system. And, they’ve just added a live, public debate on the local food movement the evening of February 7th. This is a major opportunity to be involved in the discussion, as the Board’s Centre for Food in Canada moves toward creating a Canadian Food Strategy.

It’s an impressive lineup - with Galen Weston of Loblaw co-hosting, Michael McCain of Maple Leaf Foods speaking, and representation from France, Scotland, the UK, the US, and Australia – as well as many leading experts in the Canadian food system covering the top issues! The Canadian Food Summit 2012 is not only important, it’s different from every other forum about food.

This is not a one-way summit. The goal for everyone here is not only to chart the appropriate direction for Canada’s food policies – it is also to put forth practical, detailed ideas in how to stay on course and capitalize on the full potential of Canada’s food system.
