The Ontario 4-H Council

What is the Council?
The Ontario 4-H Council was established in 1988 and incorporated in 1990. On April 1, 2000, The Council became responsible for 100% of the development and delivery of the 4-H program in Ontario. 4-H Ontario was established at this time to provide the day to day operation of the program with the Council responsible for the development of policies.
The Council's Board of Directors includes 10 elected 4-H Provincial Directors, the President and Past President. These individuals represent the 54 local 4-H Associations and 6 Regions. The board of directors is elected at the 4-H Ontario Conference and Annual Meeting. Five directors are elected annually to serve a two-year term. The staggered terms provides for continuity in the governance of the organization.
The Executive Committee is comprised of the Past President, President, Vice President and one Director chosen annually. Operating under a Governance Policy model the Executive Committee & Board of Directors develop the vision and policies for 4-H in Ontario. The 4-H Ontario Staff manages the daily affairs of the organization.
With 54 4-H Associations, 1,500 volunteers, and over 6,500 4-H members the 4-H Program is vibrant in Ontario. The Board of Directors have the unique responsibility of providing direction and vision to 4-H Ontario on behalf of its many participants.
The Ontario 4-H Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Council.
