Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement

Position Summary:
|
The Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement is accountable for the development, planning, administration, delivery and coordination of all components of Volunteer engagement from the individual level to broad community initiatives. The incumbent will make recommendations pertaining to Volunteer training, orientation, recruitment, development, recognition and retention. The incumbent will ensure proactive strategies are developed to engage current and new sectors with 4-H Ontario for both Volunteers and Members (i.e. families, post-secondary student bodies, youth umbrella groups, community development initiatives). The incumbent will maximize and develop Member and Volunteer initiatives to support 4-H growth.
This role reports to the Executive Director, working in collaboration with the Leadership Team supervises and mentors the Volunteer Support and Community Engagement team, and works with other roles on the 4-H Ontario staff team. This is a full time permanent position, and is based from a home office. Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate will be expected to work some evenings and weekends, and travel throughout Ontario as required by the organization. Regular attendance at the Guelph office will also be expected.

Qualifications:
|

Post-secondary education, college or university level in a relevant field
-
Creativity, flexible, strong communication skills, high level of initiative, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, organized and motivated

Proven mediation and community development successes

Mentorship and relationship building capacities
-
Good working knowledge of 4-H Ontario
-
Experience working with youth, volunteers and community based programs
-
Progressive professional development
-
Demonstrated ability to manage diverse relationships in a professional environment

Must have a valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle
-
Successful applicant will be required to complete a police records check in accordance with 4-H Ontario policies
