Rural Roots Run Deep Fundraising Project

Gord Bamford has joined together with 4-H clubs across Canada to provide an exclusive fundraising opportunity which will deepen the rural connection in communities throughout the country.
The ”Rural Roots Run Deep Fundraising Project” provides 4-H Clubs the opportunity to sell Gord’s new release “Day Job”(NOW Available) and his current release,” Honkytonks and Heartaches” to help raise funds to assist with club goals during the year.
This partnership will help enhance the community by providing a learning opportunity to advance leadership, communication and business skills for all 4-H members and leaders that are involved.

Gord Bamford 4-H Connection
Gord Bamford is a true country boy, devoted family man, skilled entertainer, and very successful, multi-award winning Canadian Country Music Artist. He has written and recorded songs with some of Nashville’s greatest and shared the stage with Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, and the legendary George Strait. His JUNO and CCMA awards and nominations are plentiful. Gord is realizing his dream and using his success to create opportunity, strengthen community, and effect positive change for youth.
Like most kids, Gord could not foresee the impact that 4-H values and vision would have on his life. He was merely having fun with friends. Yet, underlying the fun, Gord was learning invaluable life lessons – responsibility and leadership, preservation of country life, and service to community. Little did he know those 4-H values would lead him down a path of remarkable success and an even deeper sense of worldly purpose.
4-H is one of the most recognized and valued youth programs that develops leadership communication and life skills while developing communities with the assistance of volunteer leaders. Membership in the 4-H program provides a great opportunity for youth and volunteers to grow and enhance their skills by learning to do by doing. Joining together with Gord Bamford to participate in a fundraising initiative provides a great opportunity for members and leaders to communicate with their community, set goals for the funds raised and ensure that they follow through with those goals.

How to get involved:

Discuss this opportunity with your 4-H club.

- Set a goal

- Develop a plan

- Set a time frame

Members can learn how to set a goal, develop a plan, write information for local news publications, design posters, communication and event planning. Please ask for ideas or tools to use to assist in developing these skills.

In addition to the main fundraising project, we have also created a substantial prize that will be given to the top selling club in each province. This "top secret" prize gives each club the opportunity to enhance your future club goals. The Top Selling Club will be announced at the Alberta Leaders Conference January 14-16, 2011, which will be held in Red Deer, Alberta. The project will run from April 1, 2010 to January 1, 2011.
