FRIDAY AFTERNOON WORKSHOP SERIES:
Association Treasurer Training: Marie McNabb and Marilyn Gooding will review fundamental accounting principles including: setting up your accounts, developing a budget, financial reporting and the benefits of using accounting software. All 4-H Association treasurers are encouraged to attend this training. This training is made possible through Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada's Growing Forward's Business Development Program.
Screening Workshop: During this workshop you will learn what other counties are doing and identify strategies to get those difficult volunteers screened. There will be lots of opportunities for questions and sharing.
Introduction to Judging Workshop: Judging is about making a choice and being able to defend your decision. While this workshop is targeted at Lifeskill leaders with limited judging experience, everyone is invited to attend.
SATURDAY WORKSHOP SERIES:
Building New Projects: Become a Mountain Biking Master. We'll go through the project and discuss ways to make it an easy resource for leading fun and exciting meetings.
Building Our Youth Leaders: Guaranteed to be an interactive session filled with hands-on activities sot hat you can go back to your club and build new leaders!
Building Public-Speaking: Learn how to make your public speaking experiences go from one of terror and unpleasantness to one of excitement, enjoyment and anticipation!
Building on your Personal Communications Style: Join John Drummond in this workshop to help you understand why people are the way they are, while you identify and build on your own communication behaviour.
Building Bridges - A new approach to conflict resolution: This informative and practical workshop is designed to help you through the worst situations.
Building on Resources - Games that teach: This is a fun-filled workshop of games that will help your members learn and prove that 4-H is fun!
Building on the 'Basics': When someone asks you "What is 4-H?", what is your answer? Most of us have very different answers or find 4-H very hard to define. Through a hands-on approach this workshop explores the core competencies that are so important to 4-H as well as the 'Learn To Do By Doing' experiential learning model. We will also discuss volunteer motivation, communication and respectful dialogue.
Building Opportunities: Talk about opportunities at the regional level and beyond. You will learn what opportunities are available to 4-H members and leaders, what competencies they aim to develop and tips on how to get your members [or leaders] to attend!
Building your Association: You will identify your association's strengths and weaknesses and share with other associations your successful strategies.
Building your Judging Skills: This workshop will take you through the steps of putting together a quality class, pointers for judging each class, giving, taking and scoring reasons and managing your time.
Building FUNds: In this workshop you will gain insight into developing a marketing strategy for your 4-H Association. We will also discuss promotion, communication, relationship management, workload distribution and setting targets.
Team Building: This is an invigorating hands-on session where participants explore their personal style of leadership and how to effectively motivate and inspire those around them.
